Privacy Policy

Our Privacy Policy describes what personal data we collect, how we use and protect it, and what rights you have with respect to this information.

This Privacy Policy applies to personal information collected by the Center for Global Enterprise (“CGE”) and all of its initiatives, including without limitation the Cyber Readiness Institute, Digital Supply Chain Institute,  African Women Entrepreneurship Collective, Applied Corporate Governance Institute, and New Enlightenment Initiative.  Collectively these are referred to as “we”, “our” or “us”.

This Privacy Policy applies to all personal information collected by (or via indirect link to) our website, content, and apps, and/or otherwise in the course of our activities and services (collectively, “services”).  CGE is a non-profit limited company with its principal place of business at 200 Park Avenue, Suite 1700, New York, New York, 10166, U.S.A.

  • We collect a limited amount of usage and contact information about users.
We target our services at companies and other organizations. When you use our services or otherwise contact us, we collect, process, manage, and use a limited amount of personal information—in particular, your name, email address, and other contact information that you provide, as well as IP addresses, “cookies” data, and other information about your device and use of our services that are collected automatically. We may collect other information about you, your device, or your use of the services in ways that we describe to you at the point of collection or otherwise with your consent, or in ways that we have agreed with your company or other organization. We may also receive information about you from other sources, including commercially available sources such as data aggregators and public databases. All such information is referred to in this Privacy Policy as “user data”.
  • We use user data to help run and improve our website, content, and services, and to communicate with users.
We collect, process, and use user data internally to operate, provide, personalize, maintain, and improve our services, and to communicate further information about our services, including marketing information, to you. We also use this information in order to perform our contracts with the user’s company or other organization, on the basis of user consent, to comply with legal and regulatory requirements, and/or to pursue other legitimate interests. We may combine the various types of user data we collect and use it as described in this Privacy Policy. We use and keep user data only as long as reasonably necessary to carry out these purposes. We may also anonymize and aggregate any user and other data collected, and use and transfer any such anonymized data without notice, consent, or limitation, so long as such data does not and cannot be used to identify you.
  • Our business partners and IT services in the U.S. or elsewhere may have access to user data, but only to help us provide our services and only if they also protect user data as described in this Privacy Policy.
We use third-party service providers, including technical and online providers, Cybersecurity Champions, and other third parties, to operate, provide, and maintain some aspects of our website and services.  We may disclose your user data to such service providers, and request and permit these service providers to collect, process, and/or use such user data, under the terms of a written agreement with us. Under such agreements, the service provider is only permitted to obtain the user data it needs to deliver the service we have requested, must keep all user data confidential, and may collect, process, use, and retain user data only for the purpose of delivering such service in compliance with our agreement, instructions, and policies, including this Privacy Policy. We and our principal third-party data processors are located in the United States, so user data is collected, stored and processed outside the E.U.—in the U.S. and elsewhere.
  • Users have the rights to opt in or opt out, get copies of data, have data deleted, and other rights over their personal data.
When you enter your user data on our services, you have the right to review our Privacy Policy and to opt in or opt out to our use of your user data for marketing purposes. You also have the right to get access to, receive a copy of, correct, have deleted or anonymized, or transfer your user data, or opt-out from use of your user data for marketing purposes, at any time thereafter by contacting our Privacy Officer (privacy@thecge.net). These rights do not apply to other information related to your company or other organization. Any separate contract that your organization may have with us and the Terms of Use of our website and services apply to all information and to all use of our services and website by you and your organization, except as explicitly related to your user data as described in this Privacy Policy.
  • We use technical and organizational security measures to protect users’ data.
We and our third-party data processors maintain appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect user data, and conduct ongoing monitoring, training, auditing, and improvement of such measures. In the event of a data breach, we will promptly take steps to mitigate the breach and if required will notify relevant organizations, individuals, and/or authorities. You understand, however, that no data transmission over the internet or stored on a server can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee or warrant the security of any information you disclose or transmit to us and cannot be responsible for the theft, loss, destruction, or inadvertent disclosure of user data.
  • Any successor company must comply with this Privacy Policy.
We may transfer user data in our possession to a new owner, or in connection with a corporate transaction such as a merger, asset sale, joint venture, bankruptcy, or other reorganization or dissolution, so long as the transferee agrees to abide by the terms of this Privacy Policy. We also reserve the right to maintain, use, or disclose user data if required to do so by law, or in the good faith belief that such action is reasonably necessary to comply with legal process, respond to claims, or protect the rights, property or safety of our company, employees, customers or the public. Except as described in this Privacy Policy or the Terms of Use, we will not disclose or sell your user data without your consent.
  • We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time.
From time to time we may need to change the terms of this Privacy Policy in order to conform with changes to our services or legal requirements. We reserve the right to make such changes at any time, subject to notice and posting of the new Privacy Policy terms on our website. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy each time you enter user data, visit our website or use our services, to make sure you understand our current policy on collecting and using user data.
  • Contact us if you have any questions or requests about this Privacy Policy.
You can contact our Data Protection Officer at privacy@thecge.net if you have questions or requests related to our use of your user data, how long we keep user data for various purposes, or other aspects of this Privacy Policy.
